This game originates from two fundamental questions: Why are there various types of taxes? How do taxes influence the lives of individuals?

In an attempt to explore these questions, the game serves as a simulation where players manage a community of farmers in an isolated environment. As they achieve prosperity, they may choose to take breaks, rent out their lands, or invest in goods that enhance their quality of life. Players can also steer these farmers toward craftsmanship if demand arises in their vicinity. Conversely, when challenges emerge, farmers might relocate in search of better opportunities or, if faced with despair and failure, turn to rebellion against the governing body.

Players assume the role of community leaders, making pivotal decisions regarding tax collection, recruiting workers and guards, and constructing essential infrastructure. A unique feature allows players to pause the game at any moment to examine the lives of individual characters and understand how tax policies affect them. For instance:

• Tom starts as a farmer with modest savings but, after being assigned to infrastructure projects for several years, finds his finances depleted and is forced to sell his farm.
• Joe, a young adult without familial support or land, benefits from low taxes in the community. With increased disposable income available to residents, he chooses to become an apprentice craftsman and later thrives by contributing his skills.
• Jimmy initially flourishes by acquiring multiple farms under a low taxation regime. However, when taxes are raised unexpectedly, he faces financial strain and is compelled to sell his properties at a significant loss.
